The AmeriCorps Timesheet App, a pivotal component of the America Learns Impact Suite, makes time tracking for AmeriCorps members easy. Designed with direct input from the members themselves, the app addresses the unique challenges faced in diverse service environments, ensuring compliance, reducing administrative burdens, and enhancing user experience
The problem
User Need: AmeriCorps members require an intuitive, accessible timesheet system that accommodates varying levels of internet access and technological proficiency.
Market Gap: Existing solutions were often cumbersome, non-compliant with AmeriCorps regulations, and lacked user-friendly interfaces, leading to inefficiencies and frustration among users.
User Persona: The primary users are AmeriCorps members serving in various capacities, including those in remote areas with limited internet connectivity, necessitating an offline-capable, easy-to-use timesheet solution.
Solution

Discovery: Engaged in requirements gathering and analysis of research findings for AmeriCorps members’ pain points.
Ideation and Wireframing: Developed prototypes, focusing on simplicity and compliance needs.
Visual Design: Employed a clean, uncluttered design with clear navigation to facilitate ease of use.
Process
To design the Mobile Timesheet App, I began with Discovery to identify pain points with existing systems and establish userflows. I worked closely with the product manager to define key features and ensure technical feasibility. Using Adobe XD, I created wireframes prototypes. We tested the prototypes with users, refining the design based on feedback. I finalized designs with a unique High-Fidelity look-and-feel that compliments the organizations branding while maintaining a clean interface style. Throughout, I consulted to ensure the project stayed on track and delivered an intuitive, efficient app that addressed both user and business needs.
